WHAT IS SANKOFA?
At Sankofa Spinal Care we believe that the body has a natural ability to heal itself, and through minor corrections only where and when needed, we can tap into that ability and allow the body to heal itself in hundreds of ways.
According to The Association of Chiropractic Colleges, “chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure and function; the spine and the nervous system, and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.”
From our Chiropractor Rick Nash...
Sankofa is a word in the Twi language of Ghana, West Africa, that translates as "Go back and get what was lost" and also refers to the Asante Adinkra symbol represented either with a stylized heart shape or by a bird with its head turned backwards taking an egg off its back. Looking back and realizing that our future depends on present actions toward our health. By utilizing these techniques we can greatly increase our quality of life, and maximize our body's healing potential.
